The consultation
You do not have to do anything to prepare for me! During the consultation it is helpful if you show me your home or office as it is and what is not working for you. There is no ‘cookie-cutter’ approach. We will discuss your expectations and goals and create the plan of action and systems personalized for your lifestyle, needs, wants and goals.
I can design and set up the systems for you to become more organized and efficient.
Roll up your sleeves
We will work together as a team. An individual organizing session is generally 2-4 hours long and is tailored to your needs and working style. The number of sessions required depends on the size of the project and how much stuff there is. The time required for an individual project also depends on what role you will take in the project, and how quickly you sort and make decisions and the size of your space.
Get rid of stuff
I will always let you make the final decision on what stuff stays, and what stuff goes. I will help you define those things that are most important to you and what you truly don’t need or want. As you learn to let go it will become so much easier.
Deal with unwanted items
There are many resources for donation, sale of items or appraisal of items to determine their value. I can help you identify the best resource. There are also options such as garage sales, yard sales and for really big stuff, dumpsters for hire or trucks that will pick up.
Stay organized
Organizing is a process. Part of my role as a Professional Organizer is to help you learn organizing skills as we work through your project together. Once you learn good systems, habits, and tools, staying organized will become easier. I will help you take control of your surroundings, your time, your paper piles and your life!
When you have completed your project, you should be able to keep up the new system yourself. Some clients like to have their organizer back for periodic visits, but that is not required and is completely up to you.
The cost
Based on the walk through of your home or office and your goals, I will give you an estimate for the number of hours to complete the project. If you have multiple projects, based on your budget, we can identify the priorities for the projects and re-assess this periodically to ensure that you stay within your budget.
